Information and Public Relations Minister LN Sharma has announced that the second edition of the Sikkim Global Film Festival will be held from December 10 to 14.
Besides film screenings and the participation of filmmakers from around the world, the festival will also be a platform for a meeting between producers and investors, a fashion show, a cultural exhibition, artistic performances and recognitions, told reporters. For film submissions, interested parties can log on to www.sikkimfilmboard.org until November 15. All films entering competitive categories must have English subtitles. Films not certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) may also be submitted and the length of the shorts should not exceed 30 minutes.
To encourage filmmakers to make films in the state, the government of Sikkim led by Prem Singh Tamang, would provide a grant of Rs 20 lakhs in cash and in kind to local filmmakers and a grant of Rs 1 crore in cash and in kind. would be granted to national filmmakers, added the president.
